Job Details

Responsibilities:

Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on liability, damages, and coverage issues
Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
Argue motions in state and federal courts
Attend court hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement conferences
Evaluate claims and prepare liability and damages analyses for clients
Communicate effectively with clients, claims professionals, and opposing counsel
Prepare cases for trial, including exhibits, witness preparation, trial briefs, and jury instructions
Assist senior attorneys with complex litigation matters
Maintain accurate and timely billing, meeting an annual billable requirement of 1,800 hours

Qualifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law (or ability to obtain licensure promptly)
At least 1 year of civil litigation experience
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
