We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Associate Attorney specializing in Education Law to join our team. This is an onsite position that offers a unique opportunity to engage in challenging and rewarding work focused on education law and policy. The successful candidate will be part of a team that is committed to providing the highest level of legal services to our clients. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education law, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to make a significant impact in the field of education.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal counsel and guidance to educational institutions on a wide range of education law issues.
2. Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as contracts, agreements, policies, and regulations.
3. Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and negotiations.
4. Advise on legal compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to education.
5. Collaborate with the North Carolina Council of School Attorneys and other relevant bodies to stay abreast of the latest developments in education law.
6. Develop strategies to manage risk and mitigate legal issues.
7. Provide training to clients on education law matters.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the North Carolina State Bar.
3. A minimum of 1 years of experience in education law preferred, but we are willing to train
4. Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
5. Excellent public speaking skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
6. A deep understanding of legal compliance in the education sector.
7. Experience working with the North Carolina Council of School Attorneys or equivalent bodies.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
9. High level of professionalism and integrity, with a commitment to ethical legal practice.
10. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, but also independently as required.
11. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
