We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, handling complex estate and trust matters, and providing exceptional client service. Responsibilities:
1. Draft, review, and revise legal documents related to estate planning and trust administration, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
2. Provide legal counsel to clients on estate and trust matters, including advising on probate, estate administration, trust administration, and estate and gift taxation.
3. Represent clients in probate and trust litigation, including the resolution of disputes related to the administration of estates and trusts.
4. Conduct legal research and analysis on a wide variety of trust and estates issues.
5. Collaborate with tax professionals to plan and execute estate plans that minimize tax liability and ensure compliance with state and federal law.
6. Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, and work diligently to meet their needs in a timely and professional manner.
7. Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations related to estates and trusts, and advise clients accordingly.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in estate planning and trust administration, including experience with complex estate and trust matters.
4. Strong knowledge of Illinois law related to estates and trusts.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
6. Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical, solutions-oriented advice.
7. High degree of professionalism and a strong commitment to client service.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
9. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
