We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Associate Attorney with expertise in Homeowners Association (HOA) Law and Probate/Estate Planning to join our dynamic team. This full-time, onsite position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment, providing legal services to a diverse clientele. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the legal field, with a focus on HOA law and/or probate/estate planning.
Responsibilities:
As an Associate Attorney, you will be expected to take on a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
1. Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to homeowners associations, including interpreting and enforcing governing documents, advising on board governance and operations, and assisting with dispute resolution.
2. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
3. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend or prosecute legal actions.
4. Develop estate plans for clients, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other related documents.
5. Manage probate and trust administration, including the preparation of court documents, asset distribution, and estate tax returns.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to HOA and probate/estate planning, and advise clients accordingly.
7. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional customer service.
8. Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure the efficient and effective handling of legal matters.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Associate Attorney position will possess the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Current license to practice law in the state of South Carolina
3. Minimum of 1 year of experience in HOA law and probate/estate planning.
4. Proven track record of representing clients before courts and government agencies.
5. Exceptional negotiation and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, understandable terms.
7. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
8. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
9. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
10. Proficiency in legal research and the use of legal research tools.
