Associate Attorney - Insurance Defense

An award-winning law firm in San Francisco is seeking an associate with 2 -6 years of general and/or professional liability experience to join their practice. This opening is with a well-established firm looking to expand their San Francisco office. The firm has multiple locations throughout the state of California and offers hybrid flexibility.

The firm handles general liability, professional liability, labor and employment, business, and defense litigation. This position will strictly focus within general and professional liability. They are seeking an associate with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Construction Defect
• General Liability
• Professional Liability
• Insurance Defense

All applicants should have significant in experience in discover and law and motion practice. All applicants should be comfortable handling cases from inception to close.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and representation to clients on matters related to general liability, professional liability, and insurance defense.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to develop strategies for defending clients against claims and lawsuits.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for court filings.
• Conduct discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and requests for production of documents.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions and trial testimony.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, and trials to represent clients.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal matters.
• Manage a caseload and work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff to provide exceptional legal services to clients.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
• 2+ years of experience in general liability, professional liability, and insurance defense.
• Trial experience preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to providing exceptional legal services to clients.
