We are seeking a talented Associate Attorney specializing in Land Use/Zoning to join our growing legal team.
This position is an exciting opportunity for an Attorney who has a deep understanding of land use, land acquisition, zoning, entitlements, variances, and permitting. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on a wide range of complex land use and zoning matters and will be instrumental in assisting clients with navigating the challenges of land development and utilization.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive legal counsel on all land use and zoning matters, including but not limited to land acquisition, entitlements, variances, and permitting.
2. Represent clients before zoning boards, planning commissions, and city councils.
3. Draft, review, and negotiate complex land use agreements and contracts.
4. Conduct extensive legal research and prepare memoranda on various land use and zoning issues.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal land use and zoning regulations.
6. Develop strategies and solutions to resolve complex land use and zoning disputes.
7. Advise clients on the potential impacts of new or proposed land use laws and regulations.
8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations related to land use and zoning.
Your Qualifications:
1. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the OR state bar and in good standing.
3. A minimum of 1+ years of experience in land use and zoning law, with a strong background in land acquisition, entitlements, variances, and permitting.
4. Demonstrated ability to handle complex land use and zoning matters with minimal supervision.
5. Excellent legal research, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
6. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal land use and zoning laws and regulations.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
8. Proven track record of providing superior client service.
9. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
