Key Responsibilities
Qualifications
- Assist in all phases of class action and single-plaintiff employment litigation, from intake through trial
- Prepare position statements and evaluate administrative charges
- Handle discovery, depositions, and motion drafting
- Prepare cases for arbitration and trial, including supporting mediation preparation
- Research federal, state, and local employment laws and develop strategic recommendations for avoiding and resolving disputes
- Counsel HR professionals and business executives on employment law compliance (depending on experience level)
- Draft employment agreements and related documentation (depending on experience level)
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school, active Washington State Bar license (or eligibility to waive in)
- Minimum 2 years of experience, up to 5, in Labor & Employment Litigation
- Experience in class action defense and/or single-plaintiff employment matters
- Strong background in administrative charge work, including EEOC and state agency proceedings
- Familiarity with federal and state employment laws including Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and applicable Washington state statutes
- Proven ability to draft clear, persuasive legal writing including motions, briefs, and position statements
- Excellent research skills and strong academic credentials
- Interest in public speaking and client-facing work
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
