Job Details

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Represent community development districts and other special districts in Florida
  • Attend and advise at public hearings, board meetings, and legislative sessions (some travel required)
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, development agreements, procurement documents, and financing transactions
  • Provide counsel on land use, real estate, construction, and public policy issues
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and client communications
  • Work directly with clients, elected officials, and government representatives from the start
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys in a team-based environment while taking ownership of assigned matters

You should have most of the following:
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Florida Bar
  • Strong academic performance (top 15% preferred) or equivalent professional accomplishments
  • 0–3 years of legal experience, ideally with exposure to public finance, real estate, construction, land use, or local government law
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and public speaking skills
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative, team-driven environment
  • Intellectual curiosity, personal accountability, and client-facing confidence
  • Willingness to travel within Florida (including occasional evening hearings)
