A well-established law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of construction, business, and civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients across the construction, utility, manufacturing, architectural, engineering, retail, insurance, and municipal sectors.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, settlement agreements, and contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex commercial and regulatory issues.
  • Prepare and advance claims, including delay, acceleration, changed conditions, and other construction-related disputes.
  • Participate in administrative proceedings, bid protests, and judicial review matters.
  • Assist in trials, hearings, depositions, and arbitrations, including evidence preparation and witness coordination.
  • Handle mechanic’s lien actions, breach of contract suits, construction delay disputes, and property damage claims.
  • Review and negotiate employment agreements and other business contracts.
  • Advise clients on OSHA compliance, abatement, emergency response, and appeals.
  • Support appellate litigation, including drafting appellate briefs and related filings.

Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in Illinois.
  • 2–5 years of experience in litigation, preferably with exposure to construction or commercial disputes.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Courtroom and deposition experience a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
