Job Details
Responsibilities:
As an Associate Attorney, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing a broad caseload of medical malpractice claims from inception through trial.
2. Conducting and defending depositions, interrogatories, and document production requests.
3. Drafting and arguing pre-trial motions, participating in negotiation and mediation proceedings.
4. Preparing comprehensive case reports and legal advice for clients.
5. Collaborating with legal staff to gather evidence, research legal matters, and develop strong defense strategies.
6. Assisting in trial preparation, including the development of trial strategies and the preparation of trial exhibits and witness testimonies.
7. Maintaining the highest level of professional conduct and ethics in all interactions with clients and colleagues.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the Florida State Bar.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney, with a focus on defending medical malpractice claims.
4. Proven experience in taking and defending depositions.
5. Demonstrated expertise in case preparation from NOI through trial.
6. Excellent communication and strong writing skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal strategies clearly and effectively.
7. Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
9. Strong analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to think critically and strategically.
