Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Associate Attorney, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing a diverse portfolio of civil litigation cases, including business litigation, contract disputes, and construction law.
2. Conducting comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
3. Drafting a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
4. Representing clients in court, effectively presenting arguments and evidence to support their case.
5. Preparing for and participating in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
6. Working collaboratively with other attorneys and support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
7. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in legislation and case law that may impact our clients.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Associate Attorney position will have the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the Illinois Bar.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on civil litigation, business litigation, contract disputes, and construction law.
4. Demonstrated experience in trade secret litigation.
5. Proficiency in legal research and the drafting of pleadings.
6. Experience with motions practice, discovery response, and deposition.
7. A track record of successful court appearances and trial preparation.
8. Experience in mediation and arbitration.
9. Excellent legal writing skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal principles and facts clearly and concisely.
10. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
11. Exceptional negotiation skills, with a proven ability to resolve disputes effectively and efficiently.
12. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
13. A commitment to maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.
