Responsibilities:

The Permanent Associate Attorney will be responsible for a wide range of duties including, but not limited to:

1. Representing clients in all stages of commercial litigation, from initiation to conclusion, including trial, arbitration, settlement negotiations, and appeals.
2. Conducting legal research and analysis on a wide variety of issues related to commercial disputes.
3. Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
4. Advising clients on their legal rights and obligations, and proposing strategies for managing legal risks.
5. Participating in case strategy meetings, and collaborating with partners and other associates to develop effective litigation strategies.
6. Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients.
7. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of laws, legal trends, and industry regulations that affect clients.

Job Details

Provide legal counsel to existing clients and manage client interactions effectively.
Perform legal research, draft documents, and keep client files up to date.
Collaborate with senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently.
Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff2.

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the Texas Bar.
3+ years of experience in civil litigation.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while handling multiple files.
Well-versed in legal research software (e.g., Westlaw).
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills2.
