Job Details
- Manage a caseload of foreclosure, bankruptcy, and or collections matters from initiation through resolution
- Represent clients, primarily mortgage servicers and lenders, at court hearings and proceedings tied to those matters
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal filings, making sure everything tracks with state and federal compliance standards including FDCPA requirements
- Communicate directly with servicer and lender clients to provide case status updates and strategic guidance
- Work closely with paralegals and case managers within the firm's centralized case management structure
- Stay current on changes to state foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections law that could affect ongoing matters
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in North Carolina, in good standing
- 1 to 4 years of experience practicing law
Strongly Preferred:
- Direct experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, or collections
- Familiarity with creditors' rights, default servicing, or related real estate law work
- Ability to manage a high volume caseload independently while staying on top of deadlines and compliance
- Comfortable in a hybrid setup, splitting time between the Charlotte office and remote work
