Job Details
We are looking to hire an accomplished labor and employment attorney with ten years of relevant experience.
Your Role
Legal Defense: Defend and litigate lawsuits in federal and state courts involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges or citations, including jury trials;
Regulatory Guidance: Provide advice and counsel to public and private employers on a wide range of state and federal labor and employment laws and regulations;
Document Compliance: Draft and revise legally compliant policies, handbooks, employment contracts, separation agreements and other employment-related documents;
Investigations and Risk Management: Conduct or assist clients with internal investigations or audits and provide proactive risk management solutions;
Safety Compliance: Advise clients on best practices for compliance with occupational health and safety laws, provide proactive advice, assist with internal and governmental investigations, and defend safety-related citations and lawsuits;
Labor Relations: Devise lawful strategies and policies for employers who prefer to remain union-free, and
Union Advisory: Advise unionized employers on union-related issues, conduct bargaining negotiations, and defend union grievances and arbitrations.
Your Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Ten years of relevant labor and employment experience
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal law applicable to employers, including laws related to protected employee conduct, anti-discrimination, anti-retaliation, accommodations, wage and hour, safety, leaves of absences, and reinstatement rights.
Licensed: Be currently licensed or be eligible to become licensed, to practice law in the state of Nebraska
