A respected Houston-based law firm is seeking a mid-level attorney to support its growing property owners association (POA/HOA) practice. This role is ideal for attorneys with experience advising community associations and handling a broad range of HOA governance, compliance, and enforcement matters.
Responsibilities:
* Serve as corporate counsel for assigned association clients, offering practical legal guidance on day-to-day operations
* Draft, revise, and interpret governing documents, including bylaws, declarations, and rules
* Attend and advise board and member meetings
* Oversee legal assistants and ensure timely, accurate completion of tasks
* Prepare and pursue judicial foreclosures and related litigation
* Conduct legal research and draft court pleadings, legal opinions, and correspondence
* Maintain a full-time, in-person schedule and meet weekly billing expectations (30–40 hours/week)
Qualifications:
* Licensed to practice law in Texas; admission to the Southern District of Texas preferred
* 3–6 years of experience working with HOAs, POAs, or in a real estate or municipal law setting
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with legal billing software a plus
* Highly organized and able to manage multiple active matters under deadlines
* Strong writing, research, and communication skills
* Professional, approachable, and client-oriented mindset
* Comfortable supervising support staff and working in a fast-paced legal environment
