Job Details
- Lead Wage and Hour Compliance: Provide strategic guidance to clients on wage and hour laws, including developing and reviewing policies, advising on classification issues, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Defend Class and Collective Actions: Represent clients in class and collective action litigation, managing all aspects from case assessment to trial preparation. Work collaboratively with senior attorneys to drive the defense strategy.
- Conduct Legal Research and Draft Legal Documents: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support wage and hour litigation and compliance strategies. Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Client Advising and Counseling: Offer proactive legal advice on employment law matters, including wage and hour issues, employee classifications, and compliance with federal and state laws.
- Workplace Investigations: Conduct and oversee internal investigations related to labor and employment disputes, advising clients on best practices to mitigate risk and avoid litigation.
- Collaborative Case Management: Work closely with senior attorneys and partners on complex cases, helping to shape legal strategies and ensure successful outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active GA Bar license.
- Minimum of 4+ years of labor and employment law experience, with a focus on wage and hour advice, counseling, and the defense of class and collective actions.
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws, including discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, and employee rights regulations.
- Proven expertise in motion practice, discovery disputes, trial preparation, and management of employment litigation matters.
- Experience handling labor and employment trials (first or second chair preferred).
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate for clients.
- Familiarity with legal technology or case management software is a plus.
