Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Provide legal representation to clients in medical malpractice cases, focusing on elder abuse and dependent abuse in nursing homes and hospitals.
2. Conduct thorough case investigations to determine the validity of a claim.
3. Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, and discovery.
4. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in an attempt to avoid court proceedings.
5. Provide legal advice to clients, doctors, and nurses regarding medical malpractice laws and regulations.
6. Represent clients in court, presenting evidence and arguments as necessary.
7. Stay updated on the latest developments in healthcare law and medical malpractice to provide the most accurate advice and representation.
8. Collaborate with a team of legal professionals to strategize and achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
9. Maintain high ethical standards and professionalism in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in medical malpractice, healthcare law, or related fields.
3. Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar.
4. Proven experience in litigation, with a strong record of successful case management and resolution.
5. Knowledge of medical malpractice laws, healthcare law, and the healthcare industry, including hospitals and nursing homes.
6. Experience working with doctors and nurses, understanding their roles and responsibilities in the healthcare setting.
7. Excellent negotiation, research, and interpersonal communication skills.
8. Ability to handle high-stress situations and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
10. Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and client confidentiality.
