We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Eminent Domain Attorney with a specialization in the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of legal matters including, but not limited to, eminent domain, oil and gas, vacancy claims, drainage claims, wellbore damage claims, cessation of operation claims, easement disputes, and international oil and gas disputes. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in a dynamic and challenging work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all legal matters related to eminent domain, oil and gas, vacancy claims, drainage claims, wellbore damage claims, cessation of operation claims, easement disputes, and international oil and gas disputes.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on all kinds of legal matters in these areas.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
  • Represent the company in court and handle all necessary legal proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes.
  • Comply with all legal standards and regulations.
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development to stay updated on new laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Eminent Domain Attorney, specifically within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Proven experience in handling eminent domain, oil and gas, vacancy claims, drainage claims, wellbore damage claims, cessation of operation claims, easement disputes, and international oil and gas disputes.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Current license to practice law.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software; proficiency in legal research software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and municipal laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
