Job Details

Manufacturing Engineer develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
Confer with vendors, internal departments to determine specifications and arrange for purchase of secondary operation equipment, assembly and quality fixtures, end of arm tooling according to part specifications and quality standards
Estimate production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions; eliminate waste from production by using lean manufacturing principles
Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate current production processes and future project planning
Apply statistical methods to eliminate manufacturing issues, requirements and potential failure modes (PFMEA)
Develop and evaluates new product manufacturing methods
Define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Confer with planning concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering plus 2+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variable
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban and 5S
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in MS Office and Outlook
