Job Details
We are looking for an associate to join our restructuring and insolvency practice. This role offers early exposure to sophisticated financial matters, including creditor-side representations, business reorganizations, and related commercial transactions. We work closely across practice areas, so this position provides a mix of bankruptcy, restructuring strategy, and broader business matters. Associates here are given hands-on responsibility and the opportunity to develop strong drafting, analytical, and client management skills in a collaborative environment.

- Assist with bankruptcy and restructuring matters from initial filings through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and related court filings
- Support transactions involving distressed assets and financially challenged entities
- Conduct legal research and provide written analysis on complex issues
- Participate in client communications and strategy discussions
- Work closely with senior attorneys on case management and execution
- Collaborate across teams on matters that intersect with commercial and corporate work
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, or related commercial matters, or prior clerkship experience with a bankruptcy court
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Interest in developing a long-term practice in financial restructuring and insolvency
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree
- Licensed to practice law in Virginia (active or eligible for admission)
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
