Job Details

Join the firm's esteemed Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights practice as a Paralegal, where you'll play a crucial role in supporting the attorneys and clients with the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and statements of financial affairs
  • Assist in the preparation of motions, objections, and other court filings for state and federal courts
  • Monitor case dockets and maintain case calendars to ensure timely filings and deadlines are met
  • Conduct legal research and analyze financial documents to support case strategies
  • Assist in the representation of trustees, receivers, and other court-appointed fiduciaries
  • Coordinate with creditors, debtors, and other parties involved in bankruptcy proceedings
  • Prepare for and attend 341 meetings of creditors and bankruptcy hearings
  • Manage claims registers and assist with claims objection process
  • Support attorneys in adversary proceedings and preference actions

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of bankruptcy paralegal experience in a law firm or bankruptcy court
  • Comprehensive understanding of bankruptcy processes and procedures
  • Experience with both consumer and commercial bankruptcy cases
  • Strong attention to detail and effective proofreading skills
  • Ability to apply legal knowledge to complex assignments
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in bankruptcy software, electronic court filing systems, and MS Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
