We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) for a permanent role in our growing manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the manufacturing industry, with proven experience in generating new business, maintaining client relationships, and managing the bid process. Responsibilities:
1. Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the manufacturing industry.
2. Maintain and nurture relationships with existing clients to ensure long-term business growth.
3. Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitor strategies.
4. Manage the bid process, including preparing and submitting detailed and competitive proposals.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client requirements are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
6. Attend industry events and networking opportunities to promote the company and its services.
7. Provide regular reports on business development activities, sales results, and market trends to senior management.
8. Negotiate contracts with clients, ensuring they meet both client needs and company objectives.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
2. Proven experience in a 'hunter' role, with a track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities.
3. Demonstrated experience in managing the bid process, including preparing and submitting successful proposals.
4. Strong understanding of the manufacturing industry, including current trends, challenges, and opportunities.
5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
6. Experience working with general contractors and understanding their needs and challenges.
7. Proficiency in using take-off software or equivalent.
8. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and identify business opportunities.
9. A self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
10. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
