Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Bookkeeper, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Maintaining and updating financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
2. Preparing and managing journal entries and adjustments.
3. Conducting regular bank reconciliations and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
4. Implementing and maintaining financial controls and procedures.
5. Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
6. Collaborating with the finance team to streamline accounting functions and operations.
7. Providing financial advice and guidance to clients based on their specific financial situations.
8. Assisting with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
9. Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
10. Resolving financial discrepancies and irregularities promptly and accurately.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 1+ years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
2. Proven experience in managing journal entries and conducting bank reconciliations.
3. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.
4. Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
5. Exceptional numerical skills with attention to detail.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex accounting issues.
7. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and team members.
9. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
10. Certification from the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) or a similar body is a plus.
