Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Administer the company's payroll ensuring all aspects are processed correctly and on time.
3. Conduct a thorough review of financial statements and other documentation for discrepancies and inaccuracies.
4. Implement and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
5. Develop monthly financial statements that include cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
6. Complete end of month close procedures.
7. Collaborate with team members to support overall goals and objectives.
8. Work closely with the external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
9. Develop and implement improvements to existing accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
10. Ensure compliance with all internal processes.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
2. 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within the Accounting + Finance industry.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) and accounting software programs.
4. Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Ability to work independently on assigned duties.
9. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards.
10. Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management.
11. Proactive, resourceful, and hands-on with good initiative.
12. Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
13. Experience with payroll management is a must.
