Job Details

We are seeking an experienced **Contract Bookkeeper** to support our accounting team during a critical transition period. This role will focus on **general ledger (GL) clean-up, reconciliations, and assisting with the transition to a new accounting software system.** The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable navigating both existing records and new financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review, reconcile, and clean up the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts, transactions, and balances.
* Assist in migrating financial data from the current system into new accounting software.
* Perform account reconciliations, including bank and credit card accounts.
* Document processes and provide recommendations for improving accounting workflows.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth transition and accurate reporting.
* Provide ad-hoc bookkeeping support as needed.

Qualifications:

* Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience (3–5 years preferred).
* Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
* Proficiency with accounting software (experience with \[current system] and \[new system] a plus).
* Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
