We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Bookkeeping Specialist to join our dynamic team in the Mortgage industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, with a specific focus on processing adjustments, ACH verification, ACH payment, and charge back. This position is permanent and full-time, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our company’s financial health and growth.

Responsibilities:

As a Bookkeeping Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

1. Conducting daily bookkeeping duties including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, reconciliations, and expense reports.
2. Processing adjustments, ACH verification, ACH payment, and managing charge back.
3. Ensuring accuracy in general ledger and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
4. Analyzing financial data and preparing reports for management, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
5. Collaborating with the accounting team to improve financial processes and ensure financial compliance.
6. Assisting in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
7. Managing and maintaining financial document retention.
8. Participating in special projects and effectively communicating and presenting the results to the management team.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Bookkeeping Specialist position should possess the following qualifications:

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
2. Extensive knowledge and experience with ACH verification, ACH payment, processing adjustments, and managing charge back.
3. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software.
5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
9. Knowledge of the mortgage industry would be considered an asset.
