Job Details
We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Senior Building Engineer to support the daily mechanical and electrical operations across a portfolio of commercial properties in the metro Boston area. This role will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation of critical systems and providing technical leadership within the building operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily maintenance efforts for HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems across assigned buildings.
Oversee boiler and chiller performance, including monitoring of low-pressure steam equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair various building systems including air handlers, VAVs, FPTs, motors, and heat pumps.
Provide direct support for hands-on operation and service of core building infrastructure.
Diagnose and recommend improvements for mechanical and electrical performance to drive operational efficiency.
Partner with property management to scope capital projects and supervise installations from planning to execution.
Mentor building engineers and collaborate with team members on equipment maintenance and service strategies.
Track and report on equipment usage, system performance, and maintenance completion metrics.
Act independently or alongside team members to address service needs and provide technical solutions in real time.
Ideal Background:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the operation of commercial building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, EMS, and pneumatic controls.
Field certification or trade license preferred (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.).
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve system issues.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking software.
Must have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
