We’re looking for a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Officer to expand commercial and equipment lending business across the Central Valley and surrounding markets.

This is a true business development role, not a sit-behind-the-desk position. You’ll be out in the market building relationships, calling on businesses, and developing new opportunities from the ground up.

The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable owning a territory, generating their own pipeline, and building long-term client relationships across industries such as equipment, transportation, manufacturing, and industrial businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop new business relationships across commercial and equipment lending
  • Build and manage an active pipeline from first contact through funding
  • Spend time in the field meeting with business owners, dealers, and referral partners
  • Identify financing opportunities across equipment, over-the-road, and commercial lending solutions
  • Partner with internal lending and credit teams to structure and close deals
  • Develop and maintain a network of referral sources including equipment dealers, brokers, and business professionals
  • Represent the organization at industry events, networking groups, and within the community
  • Build long-term relationships that drive repeat business and referrals

Requirements

  • Experience in business development, commercial lending, equipment finance, or outside sales
  • Proven ability to generate new business and build a pipeline
  • Comfortable working in a true hunter role with a high level of autonomy
  • Existing book of business or industry relationships is a strong plus
  • Ability to build trust with a wide range of clients, including owner-operators and blue-collar businesses
  • Self-starter mentality with strong follow-through and accountability
  • Basic understanding of financials or lending is preferred but not required

Environment

  • Field-based role with time split between client visits and office
  • Relationship-driven and performance-focused
  • Collaborative team environment with strong internal support
