Job Details
We are on the hunt for a dynamic and detail-oriented Permanent Buyer/Planner to join our well-established and growing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain and production processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, creating purchase orders, and planning for materials and resources required for manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the entire lifecycle of purchasing processes, from selecting vendors to ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
2. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure the best cost, quality, and delivery terms.
3. Generate and manage purchase orders in line with company requirements and budget constraints.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and determine stock levels.
5. Develop and implement materials planning strategies to meet production schedules and maintain inventory at optimal levels.
6. Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
7. Coordinate with suppliers to resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
8. Continuously evaluate supplier performance and develop improvement plans when necessary.
9. Participate in the development and implementation of supply chain strategies that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience in supply chain management, vendor negotiations, purchase order creation, and materials planning.
4. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures.
5. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
6. Proficient in using purchasing and planning software.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
