Job Details:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled Permanent Buyer to join our vibrant team in the Engineering industry. This role is integral to our operations, where you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing high-quality materials, components, and services at the most competitive prices. You will be directly involved in the development and execution of sourcing strategies, as well as managing supplier relationships. Your contribution will significantly impact our production efficiency, cost reduction efforts, and overall business success.

Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and manage the company’s procurement strategy.
2. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchases and maintain a strong relationship with them.
3. Evaluate and manage vendors based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production, and distribution capabilities.
4. Process purchase orders and follow up with vendors to ensure prompt and on-time delivery of goods and services.
5. Utilize MRP systems to forecast needs, schedule deliveries, and manage inventory.
6. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities to achieve financial objectives.
7. Collaborate with the production team to understand material requirements and ensure supply meets demand.
8. Proactively solve any supply chain issues that may arise, including delays, quality control, etc.
9. Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities such as vendor contracts, purchase orders, etc.
10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Buyer role within the manufacturing or engineering industry.
3. Proficient in MRP systems and other procurement software.
4. Solid knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes and principles.
5. Proven track record in negotiating contracts and managing suppliers.
6. Strong understanding of the market dynamics and sound business judgement.
7. APICS certification is a plus.
8. Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude.
11. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
