Buyer

Based in the Salem, MA area we are a multi-faceted manufacturing and supplier that provides cutting edge industrial products to a variety of industries and markets. Our customers include Aerospace & Defense, Transportation, and Power Generation. Currently, we looking for a Buyer that has experience supporting manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, and goods for manufacturing per customer orders.
• Manage purchase order process including creating PO's and updating vendors and suppliers accordingly.
• Review and resolve any discrepancies with invoices, payments, etc.
• Communicate directly with suppliers and vendors regarding order discrepancies or shipment issues.
• Manage inventory and ensure optimum materials are available to meet customer needs.
• Keep track of order statuses and communicate lead times as needed.
• Assist with quoting to provide accurate costs for materials.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1+ year of Purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
• AAS Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering disciplines preferred
• Knowledge of MRP or ERP system - ie: SAP, Dynamics, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar system.
• Excellent communication skills written and verbal
• Proficient in full MS Office suite including Excel
