We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Survey CAD Technician to join our progressive engineering team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from residential to commercial, and from small scale to large infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and designing topographic, boundary, and construction survey drawings using CAD software. The role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
Responsibilities:
1. Utilize CAD software to prepare and revise survey drawings based on provided data and specifications.
2. Prepare and interpret both 2D and 3D drawings.
3. Collaborate with the team of surveyors to gather and interpret field data.
4. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all drawings, verifying dimensions, and ensuring all necessary data is included.
5. Assist in the design and drafting of construction staking, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and subdivision plats.
6. Maintain an organized file system for all drawings and revisions.
7. Assist in the preparation of legal descriptions for boundaries, easements, and right-of-ways.
8. Perform quality control checks on survey drawings.
9. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project deadlines and ensure client satisfaction.
10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in CAD technology.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Survey CAD Technician or in a related role.
2. Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D.
3. Experience in drafting and designing topographic, boundary, and construction survey drawings.
4. Strong understanding of surveying principles and practices, and civil engineering design concepts.
5. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and high-quality work.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
7. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines.
9. A degree or diploma in a related field is preferred.
10. Professional certification, such as Certified Survey Technician (CST), is a plus.
