Cardiothoracic Surgeon

We are a regional healthcare system with more than 8000 employees and 500 employed providers and physicians. We provide care in 50 locations and serve over 500,000 people in Central and Southern Virginia.

We are seeking a Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon to provide vacation coverage at our facility in Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals and make a real difference in the lives of patients in need.

Qualifications:

• Cardiothoracic Surgery coverage
• Weekday, Weeknight, and Weekend Call Coverage
• MD takes call from ED, ICU, and Transfer Center
• Active VA State License and DEA
• Cases: Open Heart Surgery- CABG/AVR/MVR/TVR/Replace ascending aorta, LAA clipping/exclusion

Thoracic cases would be preferred--thoracotomy, thoracoscopy, decortication, pleurodesis
Patient census—1-2 surgeries/day and any postop care for surgeries he/she performs

• Board-certified or board-eligible
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• ACLS and BLS required
