Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive patient care in the cardiovascular and thoracic specialties, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures, including vein harvesting and central line placements.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to plan and implement patient care.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, such as imaging and lab results, to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide post-operative care, including wound care, medication management, and patient education on lifestyle changes to promote recovery and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and complies with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training, staying abreast of the latest advancements in the cardiovascular and thoracic specialties.

Qualifications:
  • Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular and thoracic care, including vein harvesting and central line placements.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular and thoracic diseases, treatments, and surgical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information to patients and their families.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations and make critical decisions quickly.
  • Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical software.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care and improving patient outcomes.
