Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Provide comprehensive patient care in the cardiovascular and thoracic specialties, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures, including vein harvesting and central line placements.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to plan and implement patient care.
- Interpret diagnostic tests, such as imaging and lab results, to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide post-operative care, including wound care, medication management, and patient education on lifestyle changes to promote recovery and prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and complies with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Participate in ongoing education and training, staying abreast of the latest advancements in the cardiovascular and thoracic specialties.
Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular and thoracic care, including vein harvesting and central line placements.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular and thoracic diseases, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information to patients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations and make critical decisions quickly.
- Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical software.
- Commitment to providing high-quality care and improving patient outcomes.
