Our esteemed organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced Category Manager to join our team in the Food Manufacturing industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead and develop strategies for a specific category of meat products. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of a product category, from analyzing market trends and competition to devising and implementing strategies for procurement, pricing, and promotion. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a keen eye for spotting market trends and a passion for driving business growth and increasing market share.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement effective category management strategies to drive sales and profitability.
2. Analyze market trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities and risks.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and supply chain to develop and execute category plans.
4. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure the best cost, quality, and delivery terms.
5. Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts.
6. Monitor and analyze category performance and market trends to make adjustments to product offering, pricing, and promotion strategies.
7. Coordinate with marketing teams to promote products within the category effectively.
8. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
9. Provide guidance and support to junior team members.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in category management, preferably in the Food Manufacturing industry.
2. Proven track record in developing and implementing successful category strategies.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
4. Experience with Demand Trends or equivalent is a must.
5. Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful supplier management.
6. Solid understanding of procurement processes and inventory management.
7. Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. An MBA would be an added advantage.
10. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and category management software.
