We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced Consulting Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dedicated healthcare team for the 2025/2026 school year. The primary assignment will be at an elementary school; however, the candidate may be relocated based on the support needed for the caseload. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position and offers an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, contributing to the overall well-being and development of children.

Responsibilities:

As a Consulting COTA, you will be responsible for:

1. Collaborating with Occupational Therapists to develop and implement occupational therapy plans for students.
2. Assisting in the evaluation of students' abilities and monitoring their progress.
3. Providing direct therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
4. Documenting students' performance and reporting their progress to the Occupational Therapist.
5. Assisting in the selection and preparation of materials and equipment used in occupational therapy.
6. Participating in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and gathering information regarding a variety of subjects such as student progress, therapy strategies, educational planning, etc.
7. Ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines related to occupational therapy in schools.
8. Providing consultation and training to school staff and parents on how to incorporate therapy goals into the school and home environments.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Consulting COTA position should possess the following qualifications:

1. Associate's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
2. Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a COTA, preferably in a school setting.
4. Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices, methods, and applications.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, parents, and school staff.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Proficient in using computer software related to student data management and reporting.
8. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
9. Ability to manage a diverse caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
10. Current CPR certification.
11. Must pass a background check and drug test.
