We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and dynamic Permanent CFO to join our Accounting and Finance team. This role will be instrumental in shaping financial strategies and driving growth for our organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic financial planning, grants management, valuation, FP&A, monthly reporting, ledger management, and non-profit financial administration.
Responsibilities:
As the Permanent CFO, you will:
1. Lead the financial strategy planning and forecasting for the organization, ensuring alignment with the overall strategic goals.
2. Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.
3. Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard the financial assets of the organization.
4. Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
5. Monitor banking activities and ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization's needs.
6. Supervise the finance department staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
7. Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process.
8. Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the other department heads.
9. Engage the board's audit and finance committees around issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery.
10. Oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting.
11. Ensure that the organization complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field. An MBA, CPA, or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in a non-profit organization.
3. Proven experience in grants management, valuation, FP&A, monthly reporting, and ledger management.
4. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate a team.
6. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic approach to challenges.
8. High proficiency in financial software and other relevant computer applications.
9. Strong ethical standards and a high level of personal integrity.
