Civil CAD Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Civil CAD Designer to join our dynamic engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional to apply their expertise in developing detailed drawings and designs for civil engineering projects. As a Permanent Civil CAD Designer, you will be involved in a variety of tasks, including drawing sequence, project site drawings, translating mark-up drawings, checking plot drawings, layout framing on projects, grading surface modeling, site design, determining earthwork volumes, and reading construction drawings. This position requires a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in the field. This role is supporting Civil Land Development Department.

Job Details:

We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Civil CAD Designer to join our progressive Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed drawings using Civil 3D software from sketches, plans, and other input material. This role requires a high level of technical competence, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on site design, grading surface modeling, and earthwork volumes.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize Civil 3D software to prepare detailed engineering designs, plans, drawings, and models.
• Review and check plot drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform layout framing on various projects, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and standards.
• Develop grading and surface models, and determine earthwork volumes as part of site design.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, making necessary modifications as required.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project objectives are met.
• Provide technical support for construction efforts, including participation in construction planning and design.
• Continually enhance technical knowledge and stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Civil CAD design, preferably in the Engineering industry.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and other relevant CAD software.
• Demonstrated experience in check plot drawings, layout framing on projects, grading surface modeling, and site design.
• Ability to determine earthwork volumes and read construction drawings accurately.
• Strong technical understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.
