Job Details
Workflow & Staff Management
Coordinate staff sharing across teams to balance workload and expertise.
Prepare monthly revenue and staffing projections with a rolling 3-month outlook.
Track and analyze monthly revenue, billings, profitability, and staff utilization.
Identify hiring needs and support recruitment through candidate evaluation and interviews.
Oversee staff training and ensure development opportunities are provided.
Promote career growth by supporting advancement and cross-team learning opportunities.
Address personnel issues in collaboration with the Group Leader, HR, and senior management.
Support the Group Leader in conducting employee performance reviews.
Maintain and update the group’s proposal tracking spreadsheet monthly to monitor workflow trends.
Review and approve team timesheets and expense reports.
Foster a positive, motivated, and engaged team culture.
Technical Leadership
Oversee all phases of civil and site design project development.
Lead coordination efforts across disciplines on multi-group projects.
Mentor and support the growth of junior staff.
Provide guidance in resolving complex technical challenges.
Anticipate project roadblocks and implement solutions to maintain progress.
Project Management
Oversee preparation of proposals, interviews, fee justifications, and contracts for the team.
Provide leadership and oversight throughout all phases of project development.
Monitor financial performance of individual projects and support Project Managers in meeting goals.
Drive project momentum while ensuring adherence to schedules and deadlines.
Support the team and cross-team efforts to achieve profitability targets.
Manage collection of team accounts receivable, including assigned client portfolios.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil/site engineering, preferably within Indiana.
Strong technical expertise and broad knowledge of the civil/site construction and engineering industry in Indiana.
Demonstrated leadership ability with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Indiana, or ability to obtain licensure within the state.
