We are seeking a Permanent Civil Estimator to join our growing team in the construction industry. As a Civil Estimator, you will be an integral part of our project planning and execution process, making a significant impact on our operations and bottom line. You will work on a variety of projects, including underground utilities, sitework, and other civil engineering tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of construction estimating, project estimation, project bidding, and cost analysis.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Civil Estimator, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, material, and equipment costs.
2. Analyzing drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
3. Participating in the preparation of project bids, considering factors such as site conditions, project risk, and market conditions.
4. Conducting cost analysis and feasibility studies to assess the financial viability of projects.
5. Coordinating with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather all necessary data for estimates.
6. Evaluating and adjusting estimates as necessary throughout the course of a project.
7. Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in civil engineering and construction estimating.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for our Permanent Civil Estimator position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on underground utilities and sitework.
3. Proficiency in project estimation and project bidding.
4. Strong knowledge of cost analysis techniques and tools.
5. Familiarity with civil engineering principles and practices.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
8. Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as AutoCAD, HCSS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
10. The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality.
