We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Civil Estimator to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position within our organization. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our construction projects, providing accurate cost estimates that drive our strategic decision-making. The role involves preparing financial estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements for construction projects. This includes heavy civil, pavement, concrete, and earthwork projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
2. Prepare detailed cost budgets and necessary reports for construction projects.
3. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
4. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
5. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
6. Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
7. Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
8. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
9. Establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations.
Qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in civil construction, with a focus on heavy civil, pavement, concrete, and earthworks.
3. Proven experience as a Civil Estimator or similar role.
4. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
5. Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities.
6. Proficiency in relevant software, including CAD and estimation software.
7. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
9. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
