Job Details

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full lifecycle of civil litigation: drafting pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, trials, appeals.
  • Handle cases involving defamation, First Amendment/free speech, content removal, online harassment or privacy issues.
  • Work with clients to craft strategy combining litigation and technical/communications tactics.
  • Identify anonymous defendants or digital actors, work with experts or platforms in content takedown or de-indexing etc.
  • Conduct legal research, write strong briefs, motions, and other documents.
  • Maintain strong client communication.
  • Meet productivity/revenue expectations once up to speed.

Required Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing of the Ohio Bar (or eligible and able to become so).
  • Minimum ~5 years private practice civil litigation experience.
  • Strong background or interest in media law, First Amendment, defamation, online privacy etc preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral advocacy and analytical skills.
  • Tech literate / comfortable working with platforms, internet-related issues, and perhaps working with experts in online / digital fields.
