The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that mental health and support services are delivered with the highest standards of care. This role provides clinical oversight, supervises unlicensed staff, ensures documentation and billing compliance, and supports professional development through training and quality assurance.

As a Clinical Supervisor, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Provide clinical supervision (individual and group) for unlicensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Clinical Social Workers, and Psychologists.
  • Supervise support services staff through regular group and individual sessions.
  • Review client case records for quality, completeness, and appropriate use of therapeutic interventions.
  • Evaluate and apply current mental health treatment theories and practices in a clinical setting.
  • Offer crisis intervention support, supervision, and consultation to clinical and case management staff.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, objective, and compliant with organizational and funding source requirements.
  • Collaborate with management on program development and service delivery improvements.
  • Conduct mental health assessments as part of training for unlicensed therapists.
  • Deliver ongoing training on topics such as Evidence-Based Practices, documentation standards, and SMART goals.
  • Lead effective case consultations to enhance quality of client care.


The ideal candidate for the Clinical Supervisor role should have the following qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Active clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, Psy.D., or Ph.D.) in good standing for at least one year
  • Minimum of three years of experience providing direct mental health services in inpatient or outpatient settings
  • Strong knowledge of current counseling theories, treatment modalities, and the Shared Core Practice Model
  • Familiarity with child abuse prevention, education, and treatment practices
  • Solid understanding of human development, with a focus on children, adolescents, and families
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse populations across cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds
  • Skilled in presenting information in both formal presentations and informal settings
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Experience with administering progressive discipline when necessary
  • Capable of facilitating regular staff meetings with both clinical and non-clinical team members
