This is a direct hire role with a stable, established organization. You’ll inspect highly complex, close tolerance aerospace components that go into critical flight applications.

Job Details
What You’ll Do
Perform visual, dimensional, electrical, mechanical, environmental and chemical inspections for source, first article, receiving, in process, final and test operations
Inspect highly complex, close tolerance aerospace machined components and assemblies against drawings, quality specs and customer requirements
Run Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) during inspections
Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, pin gages, thread plugs, thread ring gages, spring testers, optical comparators and surface plates
Perform surface plate inspections with complex layout equipment
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and procedures
Review and approve inspection and test data and product acceptance paperwork
Produce manual and computer generated inspection reports to accept or reject product
Perform source inspections at supplier locations when needed
Keep inspection records up to date per company procedures
Support the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) process
What You Bring
High school diploma or GED
At least 5 years of mechanical inspection experience on highly complex, close tolerance products
At least 1 year of hands-on CMM experience
3 to 5 years of first article inspection (FAI) experience on aerospace products
Strong working knowledge of GD&T and dimensional measurement per ASME Y14.5
Must live within 50 miles of Camarillo, CA (no relocation offered)
Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) because the role requires access to export controlled information
Nice to Have
Experience with nondestructive inspection methods such as CT scanning or X-ray/radiographic imaging
Experience inspecting aluminum, titanium, stainless steel and other alloys
Experience inspecting coated aerospace parts (anodizing, cadmium, chromium, nickel or zinc plating, passivation)
Experience in an FAA regulated environment, plus basic knowledge of DFARS and Nadcap requirements
College degree or ASQ certification
Hands-on repair, maintenance or construction skills (carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, welding)
Physically able to lift, move and handle equipment
