Job Details

  • We're looking for a skilled CNC Field Service Technician to join our growing service team. This role requires frequent travel (up to 100%) to customer facilities to perform a variety of technical tasks including machine troubleshooting, repair, installation, and calibration. You'll work independently, interact with customers, and solve complex problems involving both mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machinery at customer sites.
  • Perform diagnostic tests using precision tools (e.g., multimeters, indicators, lasers).
  • Align, level, and power up new or rebuilt machine tools.
  • Rebuild mechanical sub-assemblies and replace faulty components.
  • Tune servo systems and perform advanced CNC control operations.
  • Read and interpret schematics, ladder logic, and mechanical diagrams.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with internal teams and customers.
  • Train operators and maintenance personnel on system functionality and best practices.
  • Travel regularly, often on short notice, to client facilities across the U.S.
  • Preferred Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years in CNC machine tool service, repair, or equivalent technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, etc.).
  • Understanding of parametric programming and ladder logic.
  • Capable of interpreting complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience using Renishaw ballbar or laser calibration tools (preferred, not required).
  • Mechanical fitting/scraping experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or bend for extended periods.
