An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, highly skilled, and innovative individual to join our dynamic engineering team as a Permanent CNC Toolmaker/Shop Manager. This role offers a chance to work with cutting-edge technology and machinery, providing a platform for the successful candidate to showcase their skills, creativity, and passion for precision engineering. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our CNC shop, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
As our CNC Toolmaker/Shop Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing all aspects of the CNC shop, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to safety and quality standards.
2. Programming, setting up, and operating 4 5 axis CNC machines to produce precision parts and tools.
3. Using AutoCAD and other CAD software to design and modify parts and fixtures.
4. Creating and optimizing CNC programs for new and existing parts.
5. Developing and implementing CNC fixturing strategies to enhance efficiency and precision.
6. Managing the maintenance, repair, and replacement of machinery and equipment.
7. Leading, training, and mentoring a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
8. Working closely with other departments to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
9. Continuously evaluating and improving processes and procedures to increase productivity and quality.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the CNC Toolmaker/Shop Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the engineering industry.
2. Extensive experience with 4 5 axis CNC machines, including programming, setup, and operation.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD, and other relevant software.
4. Experience with CNC fixturing and a strong understanding of its principles and applications.
5. A strong technical background with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
6. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of motivating and developing a high-performing team.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. A degree in engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential.
