This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of commercial construction projects from inception to completion.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement project plans and strategies, ensuring that the project is completed within the agreed timeline and budget.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring that they understand and adhere to job expectations and standards.
- Review work progress on a daily basis, addressing any issues that might arise promptly.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to and enforcing safety codes.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management within the commercial construction industry.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience managing large-scale commercial construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in construction management software programs.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
