We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Permanent Commercial Construction Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role offers an opportunity to navigate the fascinating world of commercial construction, where you will be in charge of planning, coordinating, and overseeing the execution of various projects from conception to completion. You will be working closely with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, commercial construction, and construction management.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
2. Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
3. Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
4. Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory.
5. Meet contractual conditions of performance.
6. Review the work progress on a daily basis.
7. Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
8. Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
9. Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
10. Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
11. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in building science, construction management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3+ years of proven working experience in construction management.
3. Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
4. Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
5. Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
6. Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
7. Competent in conflict and crisis management.
8. Excellent time and project management skills.
9. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
10. Demonstrated leadership and human resources management skills.
11. Ability to plan and see the "big picture".
12. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
