We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of our commercial construction projects, ensuring that all cost estimates, financial analysis, and bidding processes align with the company's strategic objectives. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned Commercial Estimator looking for a challenging role within a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
As a Commercial Estimator, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Developing comprehensive, detailed project cost estimates that incorporate conceptual factors, value analysis, and risk assessment.
2. Liaising with project stakeholders, clients, architects, and engineers to gather all necessary data for accurate estimation.
3. Preparing and submitting formal bids and proposals, ensuring all documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and in line with company standards.
4. Evaluating subcontractor and supplier bids for alignment with project scope and budget.
5. Conducting post-bid and post-construction cost analysis to identify areas for future improvement.
6. Collaborating with the project management team to ensure seamless transition from estimation to execution.
7. Staying updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices to continually enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the estimation process.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Commercial Estimator role should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial construction estimating.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
3. Proficient in using estimating software and technologies.
4. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with a strong attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and build effective relationships.
6. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
8. Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project demands.
9. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
10. Professional certification in estimating or a related field would be an advantage.
