A full-service law firm with a strong national presence is seeking a litigation associate with 3+ years of experience to join its Austin office. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment, demonstrates sound legal judgment, and is ready to take on meaningful responsibility in complex commercial matters.
Responsibilities
Handle all phases of commercial litigation, including pre-litigation counseling, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
Draft and argue dispositive and discovery motions, pleadings, and briefs
Conduct depositions and manage witness preparation
Manage discovery, including document review and e-discovery coordination
Conduct legal research and provide written analysis on substantive and procedural issues
Interface directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Support senior attorneys in trial preparation and, where appropriate, at trial
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
3+ years of litigation experience at a law firm (BigLaw or regional firm experience welcome)
Active Texas bar membership in good standing (or eligibility for Texas bar admission)
Strong academic credentials
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently
Federal court experience a plus
